Funny thing is, people used to report sightings of demons and angels all the time. Then, when aliens became prevalent in pop culture, the number of angel/demon sightings dramatically dropped off and the number of alien encounters went through the roof. The rate at which people have these unexplained experiences has stayed about the same, but now it’s aliens people see instead of angels.

I think that’s the best evidence there is that the majority of these encounters are hallucinations, most of them likely explainable by sleep paralysis.
