I draft longhand, but one of my editing techniques, after I’ve typed everything up, is to convert the whole unedited thing into an ebook, warts and all, and then load it up onto both my tablet and my Kindle.

It really helps my editing process. The errors that need fixing are much more glaring if I’m reading it like a professionally formatted book instead of a double-spaced manuscript.

It has the added benefit of extra security in case of a fire or hardware failure.

I don’t bother with flash drives, but I type everything up in Google Docs, and then copy/paste to Word. So I’ve got the Word file saved on my hard drive, the Google Docs file saved to the cloud, a digital copy saved physically onto my Kindle, and another cloud-based copy saved in Google Play Books.

Can’t be too careful.
