I remain unconvinced that his base can be rallied any more than they already are. They already seem pretty rabid to me. His approval ratings within the Republican party have held steady at 90% since he took office.

“much as the Kavanaugh nomination did in 2018.”

As I recall, there was an election shortly after that nomination in which the Republicans fared rather poorly. If Republican voters were energized then — and I agree that they were — it didn’t stop Democrats from reclaiming the House.

My concerns lean the opposite direction. If Democrats in Congress fail to take action on Trump, I worry it will sour Democrat voters on voting for them.
