The biggest barrier to something like this is the country’s shitty internet infrastructure. There are millions of Americans who don’t have access to high-speed internet.

I’ve been paying for broadband for over ten years, but didn’t actually start getting broadband speeds until about two months ago, when after ten years of complaining about slow speeds to my ISP, their technician finally identified a hardware problem at the junction box outside my house.

For the first time in a decade, I am now getting the speeds I pay for. I can finally stream Netflix. I can watch Youtube without having to pause the video and let it load for ten minutes. I can play games online.

But even with my connection functioning properly, I’m still only getting 3mbps down. Not fast enough for a game streaming service like this.
